Half day Program

The day begins visiting the traditional pineapple´s plantation, biologic culture developed on greenhouses where it's possible to taste the pineapple´s liquor.

The journey continues, admiring the green vegetation of the island, towards Vista do Rei's viewpoint watching the magnificent Sete Cidades volcanic complex as well as its twin lakes (Blue and Green lakes). Then, inside the crater, there is the amazing Santiago's lake to see and, after, a stop will be made in the picturesque Sete Cidades town.

The last stop will be at Pico do Carvão's viewpoint where we have a wonderful view over the newest and narrowest part of the island and both coasts.

The tours starts with the ascent to Pico da Barrosa, the second highest peak of the island, where it´s possible to see the amazing Fogo's lake.

After that, Caldeira Velha, a Protected Nature Reserve, it´s a good place to walk a little, appreciating waterfall with hot and thermal water.

Before returning to Ponta Delgada, we will visit the traditional town of Ribeira Grande and its historical center, besides it´s possible to go to the Regional Liquor's Factory and its liquors.

Full day Program

Leaving Ponta Delgada, the first stop will be at Vila Franca do Campo, the first capital of São Miguel, located in the south coast, where it´s possible to taste the famous pastry – Queijada da Vila (kind of a cheesecake), recipe created by nuns.

Arriving at Furnas' valley, near the romantic lake, we will see some volcanic phenomena, known as fumaroles and also the underneath of the famous “Cozido das Furnas” (Furnas stew), a gastronomic specialty of Azores.

After lunch, we will visit the Caldeiras where you can see the fumaroles and water spouts, some of them are cold others hot, however they have medicinal properties.

Then to enjoy the amazing view over Furnas' valley, the Pico de Ferro's viewpoint is a good choice to stop.

By north coast, more precisely in Ribeira Grande's municipality, we visit the tea plantation and also its factory, where we can taste the two kind of tea – black and green.

The last stop will be at Santa Iria's viewpoint to have a gorgeous view over the north coast.

Beginning the journey, the viewpoint to see Lagoa do Fogo, placed in Pico da Barrosa, is the first stop, surrounded by fields divided by beautiful hydrangeas with different colours when they are in bloom.

After that, Caldeira Velha, a Protected Nature Reserve, it´s a good place to walk a little, appreciating waterfall with hot and thermal water.

The tour continues visiting the traditional city of Ribeira Grande and its historical center, besides it´s possible to go to the Regional Liquor's Factory and its liquors.

Along the north coast, from Santa Iria´s viewpoint we have a beautiful view over the coast. It´s possible to go and visit a tea plantation and its factory, delighting in a good cup of black or green tea.

Then to enjoy the amazing view over Furnas' valley, the Pico de Ferro's viewpoint is a good choice to stop. The journey continues on the west coast of the island where it´s possible to enjoy the view over the newest and narrowest part of São Miguel and both coasts from the Pico de Carvão's viewpoint. Surrounded by the greenest vegetation, we will find in Vista do Rei 's viewpoint Sete Cidades volcanic complex as well as the twin lakes (Blue and Green lakes).

Then, on the crater, there is the amazing Saint James lake to see and, after, a stop will be made in the picturesque Sete Cidades town where the lunch will be served in a regional restaurant.

In the afternoon, the tour proceeds along the coast enjoying the western landscape until we arrive to Capelas, an ancient whaling village, to stop at Pedras Negras' viewpoint to see the northern coast of the island.

Following by the north coast, we visit Ribeira Grande and its historic center, besides it´s possible to go to the Regional Liquor's Factory and its liquors. After that, Caldeira Velha, a Protected Nature Reserve, it´s a place chosen to take a bath enjoying the warm water from a waterfall.

The last stop will be to take a look over the gorgeous Lagoa do Fogo.

Back at Ponta Delgada, going down by Pico da Barrosa, we will have once more the view over newest and narrowest part of the island.

The day begins leaving Ponta Delgada towards the north coast with the first stop at Ribeira dos Caldeirões, which belongs to Nordeste's municipality. Here, we will be delighted by the beautiful waterfall, very well-known as Véu da Noiva, and also it´s possible to visit the traditional watermills.

Passage through the picturesque Nordeste's village towards the wonderful and landscaped viewpoints, Ponta do Sossego and Ponta da Madrugada, placed in the eastern tip of the island.

The lunch will be at Povoação's village, the first place to be settled, and, in the afternoon, we can visit its historic center.

Return to Ponta Delgada along the south coast.

Thematic Programs

The day starts with the hotel pick up at 07:45h, followed by a visit to Graça market in order to shop the ingredients for lunch (fish, vegetables, wine and azorean bread).

With the cooking in our hands, we depart to Furnas by the south side, stoping at Vila Franca do Campo for coffee break, and also, to try the local gastronomic Vila´s cake.

In Furnas's lagoon, time for the chefs to show their skills and habilities in order to prepare lunch. With the cooking pot fill and ready, time to cook it by burying it.

After cooking pot funeral, time to hike around the lagoon margins, finishing in Furnas village. In here, time for the thermal bath, Poça da Beija.

Refreshed and young, departure again to Furnas's lagoon in order to unbury our food, and to taste it on the picknick areas around.

With Stomach full, time to try the famous mineral water, and to return to Ponta Delgada by the north coast. During this trip, we will visit Gorreana's tea Factory and stop at Santa Iria's view point. Arrival at the Hotel.

Pick up at the hotels in Ponta Delgada at 09:15 h.

Our first stop will be at a pineapple plantation, biological culture developed in greenhouses. We move towards Sete Cidades passing by the road of Vigia das Feteiras. Stop at Lomba do Vasco viewpoint to begin our hiking tour (tour around the South Ridge of the Sete Cidades Volcano, with a 6 Km extension)

Next we go downwards the village and stop at the edges of the lake for a pic-nic.

Back to the van, we move to a place called Várzea, stopping at Ponta do Escalvado viewpoint, to have a view towards Mosteiros, the extreme West of the island.

Next we go to Ponta da Ferraria, were lies the renewed Termas da Ferraria ( SPA ). There our clients will be able to enjoy the hot baths in oceanic waters.

Back at the hotel.

Next we drive towards the place of Sete Cidades passing by the road of Pico do Carvão. Stop at Vista do Rei viewpoint to witness the landscape of the twin lakes of Sete Cidades, the true touristic image of the island and Azores.

Drive towards the village and stop by the lakes shores.

We drive next to a place called Várzea, stopping at Ponta do Escalvado viewpoint, to have a view towards Mosteiros, the extreme West of the island.
